We love your enthusiasm for boardwalks, bridges, and teeter totters.
We also love making sure riders are safe and that we can meet the Whistler Trail Standards. All Rec Sites and Trails bike trails are required to meet these standards.
You’ve noticed that some of our wooden features have been taken down. We’re sad too. 😥 Priority is to remove the unsafe structures first, rebuild the trails and rebuild structures later.
Hot topics lately: we WILL REBUILD the Penetralia overpass (maybe by late June). We will not rebuild the Four Horseman teeter totter. Whistler Trail Standards won’t allow it.

We will be removing some wooden features completely because of the cost of lumber and required maintenance. Coming to our workbees would be a great way for you to find out how much work goes into these trails!
