Smithers Mountain Bike Association

Did you know that the SMBA has over 50 kilometers of mountain biking trails that require maintenance every year? Maintenance not only keeps our trails in a great riding state but is also a requirement of our partnership agreement with Recreation Sites and Trails BC (RSTBC) to have these trails on Crown land. RSTBC is the Provincial body that provides the access to the Crown land where our trails exist.

The SMBA receives $10 000/year from local businesses to perform major maintenance repairs (trail re-routes due to water damage, fixing of major structures, etc). However, there is a lot of maintenance work that is not captured by this program. In an effort to meet our partnership agreement and to involve the SMBA members in keeping the trails in good condition, the SMBA organizes an Adopt-A-Trail Program.

If you are interested in participating, we encourage you to contact us at for more information. We have a fantastic crew in place for 2017, and are always open to more volunteers.
